Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is nearing full fitness and is set to play the next Indian Premier League match against Rajasthan Royals on April 13.Rohit Sharma had sustained a muscle injury on his leg during practice, a day prior to the match against Kings XI Punjab which forced him to sit out of the match as a precautionary measure.Kieron Pollard led Mumbai Indians in Rohit’s absence and they won that game by 3 wickets at the Wankhede stadium on Wednesday.Rohit Sharma was replaced by Siddhesh Lad, who has been with Mumbai Indians since 2015 but had never got a game before. The 26-year-old Siddhesh Lad has scored heavily in first-class cricket. From 49 matches, Lad has scored 3592 runs including 8 hundreds.Mumbai Indians Director of Cricket Operations Zaheer Khan on Friday stated that the team will assess Rohit’s condition after practice but he is available for selection. Rohit also batted for some time at the nets at the Wankhede Stadium.”He is definitely available, available for selection and he is very confident, so that is a very positive sign right now for us. He is going to practice and get a better gauge of things, but we are pretty confident (of him playing),” Zaheer Khan said.On Tuesday, Rohit Sharma gave Mumbai Indians and India a major injury scare when he limped out of MI’s practice session.
