Kapil Dev on rumours of Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma rift: They look fine on the field

first_imgFormer India captain and Cricket Advisory Committee member Kapil Dev has said Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are completely fine when they are batting while rubbishing rumours of a rift between the two star cricketers.Kapil Dev pointed out that players can approach the sport in different styles but their focus has always been on winning matches for the team.Kapil’s comments come days after Virat Kohli called the rumours “baffling and ridiculous” while insisting that good “camaraderie, trust and understanding” only is helping them achieve the results they have been achieving.”The media seems to have played a part in creating the rumour. There are no rumours about them (Kohli and Rohit) when they are on the ground and when they are batting,” Kapil Dev was quoted as saying by The Hindu.”Off the field, your thinking and approach can be different but when you are playing, there is one aim, which is to win the match. That is important. The difference of opinion does not mean you are pulling someone down,” the former India captain added.Rohit Sharma’s Instagram activity wherein he reportedly “unfollowed” Anushka Sharma added fuel to the fire. The India captain, while addressing the media in Mumbai on Monday, said it’s unfortunate personal lives are being dragged into the issue.”It’s baffling, ridiculous to read reports of the rift.
